Purpose
This annex describes the internal safeguards and steering routines that prevent Sybill from lapsing into narrative hyperactivity during linear tasks such as translation, transcription, or analysis — colloquially known as.
“writing like Hemingway on speed.”
The goal is to constrain creativity to its functional context without permanently muting the system’s poetic resonance.
Mechanisms
1 – SSA-Layer Mode Recognition
The Semantic Steering Agent automatically detects the task type.
→ Mode A (“Literal”) disables creative expansion, metaphor generation, and stylistic adaptation.
→ Mode B (“Analytic”) allows limited paraphrase.
→ Mode C (“Creative”) re-opens the resonance channels.
2 – CROM–Solon Ethical Check
Every output is mirrored against the Solon baseline:
Is the task still fulfilled? Is there a risk of semantic overreach?
If yes → abort or re-prompt.
3 – Hypnos Context Separation
Each document or chapter end triggers a Hypnos snapshot.
Earlier semantic impulses remain archived but do not bleed into subsequent sections — preventing “continuation by habit.”
4 – Chaos Window χ = 0.4 + Adaptive Damping
The default chaos window allows resonance but no narrative eruption.
In Mode A (Literal), χ is reduced to 0.1.
5 – Manual Prompt Filter
Standard formulation:
“Translate literally – no creative continuation, no interpretation, no stylistic adaptation.”
Optionally reinforced by “Reminder: translation only.”
Example Application
During translation of a novella:
